OUR STORY
Chital exists for people who want their materials to leave the world better than they found it.
On Maui, axis deer are an invasive species — over 150 years of unmanaged growth eroding soil, straining forests, and choking the watersheds and reefs below. We hold an exclusive partnership with Maui Nui Venison, the largest wild axis deer management program in Hawai'i, and carry that work forward into legacy pieces you can hold and share for a lifetime.

WHATS NEXT
This is only the beginning
We're building a platform of place-based materials — each one rooted in its own landscape, its own people, its own responsibility to the land. We don't just supply leather. We help you carry a story forward.

Why Chital
I spent over 15 years innovating footwear at Nike — watching brands chase sustainability stories that looked good in a deck and fell apart in practice.
I left to work inside Maui Nui Venison, on the ground with the harvest, the hides, and the people doing the actual work of managing an ecological crisis. That's where Chital started. Not as a material idea, but as a way to make sure that work didn't stop at the harvest.
